Repeaters

The Fessenden Amateur Radio Society, along with the Outer Banks Repeater Association, support several repeaters along North Carolina’s Outer Banks stretching from Mamie in Currituck County down to Ocracoke Village in Hyde County.

Bodie Island

145.290 MHz – 131.8 Hz CTCSS (rx) – Echolink K4OBX-L 2014

This repeater is linked to the Outer Banks Repeater Linking System and provides coverage to the north end of Hatteras Island as well as the Nags Head, Roanoke Island (Manteo and Wanchese), and the mainland areas from East Lake to Manns Harbor.

444.125 MHz – 100.0 Hz CTCSS (tx/rx)

This repeater is linked to the Carolina 440 Network via an Allstar Internet connection and provides coverage to the north end of Hatteras Island as well as the Nags Head area.

444.9875 MHz – CC 1

This DMR repeater provides users in the northern Hatteras Island and Nags Head area with connectivity into the NCPRN network.


Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands

Waves

444.325 MHz – 131.8 Hz CTCSS (tx/rx) – Echolink K4OBX-L 2014

This repeater is linked to the Buxton 145.150 repeater and provides portable coverage to the tri-village area of Rodanthe, Waves, and Salvo.

Buxton

145.150 MHz – 131.8 Hz CTCSS (tx/rx) – Echolink K4OBX-L 2014

The main repeater on Hatteras Island, the “1-5” repeater covers most of the island and well into both the Atlantic Ocean as well as the Pamlico Sound. This repeater is linked to the Waves UHF repeater to the north and the Ocracoke UHF repeater to the south full time, and is linkable to both the Outer Banks Repeater Linked System and the Coastal Linking System.

146.6250 MHz – CC 1

This DMR repeater provides mobile coverage of Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands and is Internet-linked to the Brandmeister network. The repeater supports the following talkgroups:

    • 3137 – North Carolina (full-time)
    • 9 – Local
    • Please use timeslot 2 for dynamic talkgroups.

444.0625 MHz – CC1

This DMR repeater provides mobile coverage of southern Hatteras Island and Ocracoke Island and is Internet-linked to the NCPRN network. The repeater supports the following talkgroups:

This repeater has no hang-time and serves as the hub for the Outer Banks repeater linking system.

146.715 MHz – 131.8 Hz CTCSS (tx/rx)

This repeater is on the mainland and is linkable to the Coastal Linking System.
